Get excited: spring and summer programming is coming! Spring and Summer programming registration go live on Wednesday, March 8th at 9 a.m.*
There is programming for every age and skill level to get you outside and having fun! There are many returning programs and a few new ones so check out the awesome programs to get involved with this spring and summer. We’ll send you an email next week with registration links when it is live!
*Please Note that Trail Kids has implemented a lottery system. At this time Sessions 1 & 2 are waitlist only with people welcome to join the waitlist. Session 3 lottery registration will come this summer.

For Kids:
- Canoeing Family Program NEW – Participants will learn equipment and sport fundamentals, as well as the enjoyment of water sports and cooperative activities. We will go over water safety, body position and stroke technique, communication with your partner, and ways to steer the boat with more ease and confidence. Enjoy time on the water or get ready for a trip, this will be a fun bonding experience for you and your young person.
- Activities include: canoeing
- Skill level: all levels welcome
- Age Range: 9-12, adults 18+
- Adventure Camps – Youth spend their days diving into a world of non-stop outdoor fun. Kids break into small groups with enthusiastic counselors and rotate through different activities throughout the day in these week-long camps.
- Activities Include: Mountain biking, orienteering, and canoeing, capture-the-flag, ultimate frisbee, and other games, nature activities, creative crafts, archery
- Skill Level: Novice. Should be able to ride a bike.
- Age Range: 9 – 13
- Loppet Ultimate Program – The Loppet Ultimate Program provides equitable access for youth in the Twin Cities to learn the sport of Ultimate Frisbee, connect with members of the Ultimate community, and be mentored by experienced Ultimate players through week-long camps.
- Activities include: Ultimate frisbee
- Skill level: all levels welcome
- Age Range: 8-10
- Trail Kids Mountain Bike – Trail Kids offers three sessions of six-week mountain bike programs for novice to advanced riders. Participants ages 7-13 will explore single-track trails while gaining skills they can use for a lifetime!
- Activities Include: mountain biking
- Skill Level: novice – advanced by program. Those who have no experience mountain biking on singletrack trails should take one of our Beginner Mountain Bike Clinics before taking one of the six-week evening sessions.

- Trail Kids Beginner Mountain Bike Clinics – These clinics are designed for youth ages 7-13 who have no experience riding single track trails.If you are new to the Trail Kids program, these clinics are highly suggested before taking one of the six-week evening sessions.

- Trail Kids Mountain Bike Camps – Trail Kids offers nine weeks of half day (8am – 12pm) mountain bike camps for beginner to advanced riders ages 7-13. Participants will explore the single-track trails at Theodore Wirth Park while gaining skills they can use for a lifetime! The focus of the mountain bike camps is to have fun, meet new friends, and build confidence riding the singletrack trails.

- Trail Kids Run & Orienteering – Youth ages 7-13 will enjoy trail running on the single track and ski trails around Theodore Wirth Park as they are coached in the basics of orienteering skills. The program will also incorporate ultimate frisbee, slack line skills, and other running games as warm up activities for the main session which is focused on trail running and orienteering.

For Juniors:
- Loppet Paddling – JuniorsNEW – Whether you’re looking for a unique sport, or looking for more upper-body cross-training, canoeing is a fantastic choice. Participants will learn about the equipment, water safety basics, body position and stroke technique, different types of strokes, communication and working with your partner as well as other boats, steering with confidence and greater ease, wake riding, buoy turns, how to adjust your stroke to different types of water and how to manage starts and larger waves.

- Skill level: all levels welcome
- Age Range: 13-18
- Loppet Run 365 (LR365) Juniors Development Team – Designed to introduce running as a sport as well as a means to improve performance in other sports.
- Activities Include: running,
- Skill Level: novice – intermediate
- Age Range: 13 -15 for Development, 6-11 for Mini Devo
- Offered in both Somali and English languages
- LR365 Junior Competition Team – Designed to prepare runners ages 15-19 to compete at a state and national level.
- Activities Include: running, competition based
- Skill Level: Advanced
- Age Range: 16 – 19
- Offered in both Somali and English languages
- Loppet Cycle Works (LCW) Juniors Development Team – The goals for the DEVO Team are to encourage and support youth in a healthy lifestyle through cycling, building friendship and working together as a team. The program focuses on competition through training and racing and preparing youth for local, regional and national races.

- Skill Level: intermediate
- Age Range: 12 – 17
- LCW Juniors Adventure Crew – The LCW Adventure Crew provides quality coaching, progressive skills development, and opportunities to ride local and destination trails throughout the state and country without the stress of competition. This is the next step for those that have outgrown Trail Kids but still want to get rad.

- Skill Level: intermediate
- Age Range: 12 – 16
- LCW Gravity Team – LCW Gravity is a broad approach to introducing, applying and refining the technical mountain bike skills and terrain awareness that build confidence on and off the bike across disciplines. We have put together a dedicated and experienced team of coaches, guides and instructors who are on mission to develop the LCW Gravity Team and instill a passion for lifelong learning outdoors.

- Age Range: 12 – 16
- Loppet Ultimate Program – The Loppet Ultimate Program provides equitable access for youth in the Twin Cities to learn the sport of Ultimate Frisbee, connect with members of the Ultimate community, and be mentored by experienced Ultimate players through week-long camps.

- LNR Juniors Development Team – Training for this young nordic skiers. The “Devo” group will be more varied than the Comp Team, and often less ski specific.
- Activities Include: nordic ski technique, physical conditioning
- Skill Level: intermediate
- Age Range: 13 – 16
- LNR Juniors Competition Team – The LNR competition team for 16-19 year olds and will continue to be focused on year round training with the goal of competing regionally and nationally.
- Activities Include: nordic ski technique, physical conditioning, year round program

- Age Range: 16 – 19
For Adults (18+):

- Loppet Run 365 (LR365) Adults: Loppet Run 365 Adult Run Club is designed for goal-oriented runners from beginners to the highly competitive level. Meets two times a week.

- Offered in both Somali and English Languages
- LCW Trail Adults: Trail Adults is for anyone interested in learning how to mountain bike confidently and safely or improving their mountain bike skills. Meets weekly at Wirth Park, three sessions offered.

- LCW Ride Club: The LCW Ride Club is a community for people who enjoy mountain biking with others. Members span the spectrum of skill levels, but we’re all alike in wanting to be better riders.

- Adult Strength for Endurance Athletes: Focuses on building a solid base for nordic skiing, running, and other endurance sports by utilizing body weight movements, barbells, free weights, and plyometrics.
- Activities Include: strength training
- Skill Level: intermediate – advanced
- Spring Yoga: Yoga geared toward the athlete who wants to supplement their training routine as well for those who want to explore and deepen their yoga practice.

- CityTrail Loppet (May 21): Join us on Sunday, May 21, 2023! Three distances to choose from – 5K, 10K and 10 Mile. All finish together at the Sculpture Garden.
